Heathrows its toys out of the pram again

A 28 hour return trip from Brisbane just isn’t enough without a diversion to Frankfurt. Danke schoen Heathrow… 28 hours has soon become 40.
Alles ist nicht bad though … weissbier und pretzels to the rescue.

    Happy festivities

Happy new year to everyone and hope you had a good Christmas! The slovenly part is over and it’s time to re-emerge from the festive hibernation… or nearly.
There won’t be a bedtime lullabies show tomorrow – the show will return in 2 weeks with non-festive musique. Before then you can catch Kone-R and myself at Ginglik on 7th Jan. Will also be playing on 14th Jan if you can handle 2 weeks on the trot!

So…. any new year resolutions? Mine – stay in touch with people more and to get back on into the music production! Oh and maybe try to sleep a bit more too.

    peas.

Techliks @ Ginglik Saturday 10th December

Catch me and the mighty Kone-R (www.unchartedaudio.com) this Saturday at Ginglik, 1 Shepherds Bush Green (www.ginglik.co.uk) from 12:30 – 3am.

West London’s favorite bohemian beat bunker brings you a night of the finest electronic music with live lush future-pop from quintet Talk In Colour and everything from crunchy melodic hip hop, techno, breakbeats through minimal techno and out the other side to heavier elements of dubstep with residents Kone-r, DJ Stayhome, & guest DJ Slim Jim

    Talk In Colour
London nu-gaze future-pop quintet Talk in Colour (formerly The Shadow Orchestra). Brooding, emotive and uplifting, slipping effortlessly between pure instrumentals and vocal driven tracks, Talk In Colour defy easy categorisation.
    http://www.facebook.com/TalkInColour

    Kone-R
“A dexterity few DJ’s can harness” One Week To Live. Kone-R is the man behind the Uncharted Audio, which has just been voted the 3rd best record label of 2010 by The Music Magazine (www.themusicmagazine.co.uk/poll-results-best-record-labels-of-2010). He hasintroduced the likes of Cursor Miner, LJ Kruzer, Kings Have Long Arms and plenty of other weird and wonderful sonic tomfoolery to the world. Manning the turntables since 1992 when he discovered the joy of warehouse raves, the spirit of that era lives on in his sets today, with a liberal sprinkling of ambience, techno, breakbeats and plenty of low frequency oscillations. Despite the length of time he’s spent in the booth, he maintains a cutting edge – you’re as likely to hear him drop fresh dubplates by up and coming acts alongside the latest cuts from Berlin to Detroit as you are to hear vintage rave, classic disco and timeless electro. Listen to Kone-R’s recent mix for Delta9: http://bit.ly/8wKWeQ

    DJ Stayhome
Blissful, soulful, pulsating, sometimes cheeky, never without a surprise and consistently brilliant, DJ Stayhome has been cutting a steady swathe across London’s electronica scene for the past 12 years. Spend a couple of hours with him and you’re likely to hear anything from crunchy melodic hip hop through minimal techno and out the other side to heavier elements of dubstep. If you like your tracks cooked up with interesting rhythms and a whole lot of bass, you can count on finding them in his sets.

    DJ Slim Jim
A dj/producer having recorded under aliases Blowfelt and Scrappy spanning a ten year era from trip hop to garage. Amplified soundscape of electronic beats and bass with influences ranging from warp electronica to south london underground bass lead garage and glitchy west coast electronica.

    £6 before 10pm / £8 after / 7pm-3am
